Where is my data hosted?
Data centers are localized facilities providing servers and cloud services, operated by SAP and designated hyperscalers. By offering specific deployment plans for cloud line-of-business solutions, we help our customers meet unique regulatory, data protection, and security requirements in their country or region.
Global delivery location
Standard offerings, tailored to the individual needs of most of our customers, ensuring compliance with global and industry cybersecurity standards.
Country or regional delivery location
Delivery in regional (e.g., EU) or local country data center, in accordance with local regulatory compliance requirements for cloud business.
Customer data center (CDC) for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition
Private cloud managed services, software, and infrastructure, all within the customer’s own data center.
Who manages the keys to the data?
Encryption helps to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of your data. That’s why we impose strict requirements for the encryption standards in our IT software systems and servers. As an essential aspect of safeguarding secure access to your confidential data, customer and SAP data must be encrypted in all locations wherever it resides.
SAP Standard Encryption and Key Management
To ensure customer data is encrypted at rest in all cloud solutions from SAP, data encryption keys and key encryption keys are generated, owned, and managed by SAP. Infrastructure partners, such as hyperscalers, have no access to these keys.
Where are the cloud operations and support functions located?
Cloud solutions from SAP are operated and supported with technical and procedural controls that limit the need and ability for SAP personnel to see customer data. To meet our customers’ needs, we use cloud operations delivery modules to define how operations and support are delivered from SAP.
Global
Standard approach for all cloud services, our global cloud operations support efficient, high-performance delivery by leveraging resources that meet relevant industry standards, where they are available.
EU access
Optional service available for selected cloud services, our EU access option limits the hosting, processing, and access of personal customer data by SAP and its subprocesses to the European Economic Area and Switzerland.

Our sovereign cloud capabilities help you safeguard sensitive data, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster technological advancement.
